Miylo uses browser local storage rather than traditional cookies for most of its functionality. The effect is similar — data is stored on your device to make the app work smoothly.
2. What We Store and Why
Here is exactly what Miylo stores on your device and why:

3. What We Do NOT Do
We want to be completely clear about what Miylo does not do with cookies or local storage:
- We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels
- We do not use Facebook Pixel, Google Analytics, or any third-party tracking scripts
- We do not track your browsing behaviour across other websites
- We do not sell or share your local storage data with any advertiser or data broker
- We do not use fingerprinting or device identification for advertising purposes
Miylo products are completely ad-free. Our revenue comes from delivery fees and vendor commissions — not from advertising or data sales.
4. Essential vs Functional Storage
Essential storage is strictly necessary for Miylo to function. Without it, you cannot stay logged in, add items to your cart, or use the pharmacy consultation feature. You cannot opt out of essential storage and continue using Miylo.
Functional storage improves your experience but is not strictly required. This includes your saved location, GPS coordinates, and favourite vendors. You can clear this data at any time without affecting your ability to use Miylo.
5. How to Clear Your Data
You can clear all Miylo local storage data at any time:
- On mobile browser (Chrome): Settings → Privacy and Security → Clear browsing data → Cached images and files + Site data
- On Safari (iPhone): Settings → Safari → Advanced → Website Data → Remove miylo.vercel.app
- On desktop: Browser DevTools → Application → Local Storage → right-click miylo.vercel.app → Clear
Clearing local storage will sign you out of Miylo and clear your cart. Your account data, order history, and wallet balance are stored on our servers and are not affected by clearing local storage.
6. Third-Party Services
Miylo integrates with the following third-party services that may set their own cookies or storage:
- Paystack: Our payment processor may set cookies during the payment flow. These are governed by Paystack's own cookie policy.
- Google Maps: Used for address autocomplete. Google may set cookies when the maps feature is active. These are governed by Google's privacy policy.
We have no control over third-party cookies set by these services. We recommend reviewing their respective privacy policies.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookies Policy as our technology or practices change. The effective date at the top will reflect the latest update. Continued use of Miylo after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.
